Captain Sam Atwell

No one knows for sure, but it’s possible that Sam Atwell was born on the water. From the moment he could hold a fishing pole or carry a surfboard, he was out there. At age 10, he got his hands on some poles and a Zodiac to explore the nooks and crannies of the Indian River Lagoon, and hasn't looked back since.

To say Sam understands the local fishing spots is an understatement. He lives and breathes Florida fish and wildlife and is attuned to its subtle rhythms: the tides, the weather, the seasons, the habits, the cycles. He’s been learning from them for nearly three decades. You won’t just catch fish with Sam, you’ll immerse yourself in the entire Florida experience and begin to understand how this fascinating ecosystem works together to present such incredible opportunities for adventure.

What’s more, Sam’s just a good, fun guy to be around. Even when he’s picking you up before the sun rises at 5:30am, he’s cracking jokes and has a smile on his face. He loves getting to know new people, but he also appreciates the beauty of a still, quiet morning on the water. Pessimists never catch fish, so Sam doesn’t plan on becoming one anytime soon.
